Role Purpose

 

The role of Account Manager is responsible for maximising business profitability through effective project management of Automotive OEM accounts and associated supply-chain partners, effective day-to-day management of product delivery and maintaining excellent customer relations and maximising revenue generated from key business stakeholders. You will play a key role in supporting the Head of Account Management Automotive to achieve “best in class” account management.   

 

Coupled with adopting a strong customer centric culture, success will require close collaboration with our Sales, Technical, Production and Quality Teams to ensure that we grow and sustain a profitable business and reduce our dependency on any one customer. Your aim is to utilise your planning and communication skills alongside customer partnerships to position our Company to be the most respected automotive leather brand and supplier of choice in the world.   

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Utilise the CRM system to lay out and successfully implement OEM and supply-chain projects and effectively manage the complexities and diverse nature of their individual requirements
  • Use the CRM APQP framework to report project dates and key milestones 
  • Arrange and manage regular project status meetings incorporating all stakeholders to ensure launch / delivery readiness 
  • Liaise with OEM and Supply-chain Purchasing, Design, Technical / Engineering and Quality departments to manage projects and day-to-day product delivery
  • Build customer confidence and develop strong relationships through effective project management and by ensuring clear and concise customer communications regarding day-to-day product delivery 
  • Provide regular updates of customer activity to Head of Account Management and Directors. Report changing expectation levels, identify clear business priorities, risks and challenges
  • Liaise with the Head of Account Management and Finance department regarding OEM and / or supply-chain trading matters including the management of credit limits, terms and conditions and all payment concerns
  • Help advise the Head of Account Management and Commercial department on the strategy for quotations and customer negotiations and, when required, the resolution of commercial matters
  • Create and manage strategy for customer visit plans for OEM and supply-chain customers - ensure effective communication of visit results and follow-up activity
  • Use OEM, supply-chain and product knowledge and any market intelligence to contribute to business development strategy
  • Identify internal, OEM and / or supply-chain opportunities for improvement
  • Ensure that you operate in accordance with any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of yourself and other staff and visitors at all times 
  • Ensure in-depth product knowledge thus relieving the reliance on the Technical and Production teams
  • Frequent travel between manufacturing, customer and supplier sites, including overnight

 

Experience Desired  

 

  • Experience in a similar role – preferably in the Automotive Sector with excellent knowledge of the global OEM landscape
  • Degree qualified preferred
  • Experience of working to demanding targets
  • Thorough automotive OEM and supply-chain management experience
  • Understanding of seat manufacture and assembly processes
  • Understanding of APQP framework or other project management tools
  • Knowledge of PSW / PPAP product approval process
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement tools (e.g. Lean Manufacturing)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build strong business relationships with all internal and external customers
  • Well-developed personal computing skills including spreadsheet applications
  • Natural commercial acumen
  • Able to identify priorities
  • Able to work under pressure and effectively as part of a team
