Job Description

Role purpose

 

The Despatch Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day safe and efficient operations of the Dispatch area.

 

The day-to-day operation will typically involve receiving & booking in finished goods, kitting orders for production and ensuring that products are dispatched with the appropriate carrier and documentation.

 

Key accountabilities

 

  • Working to Standard Operational Procedures.
  • Working proactively with the Team Leaders and Supervisor.
  • Tracking the progress of the batches in production - highlighting delays and issues.
  • Organising work to enable optimum productivity and to ensure tight deadlines are met.
  • Managing various processes within the department to remedy production issues, delays and inefficiencies.
  • Liaising with other departments and stakeholders in order to achieve the departmental goals and objectives.
  • Keeping the department supplied with tools and packaging materials by placing purchase orders with a supplier.
  • Stock taking and ensuring that physical stock corresponds with virtual records.
  • Delivering high quality outputs.
  • Responsible for ensuring all Health and Safety standards are met.
  • Takes ownership for ensuring all housekeeping duties are met.
  • Team player – works as part of team to deliver results, sets high standards for self and leads/influences by example.
  • Effective communications at all levels.
  • Accurately allocate finished materials to customer orders.
  • Dispatch all customer orders, ensuring all documentation has been completed and sent to the customer.
  • Live and breathe workplace organisation ensuring the Goods in, & Dispatch area is always customer ready and work closely with the team on ongoing improvement projects.
  • Ensure all hides are stored in a safe manner & maintain accurate stock levels.
  • Participate in organising, stock check – ensuring all stock is accurately labelled & counted.
  • Organising work to enable optimum productivity and to ensure tight deadlines are met.
  • Liaising with other departments and stakeholders in order to achieve the departmental goals and objectives.
  • Build meaningful relationships ensuring effective communications between line manager, supervisors and colleagues that are involved in the full end to end process within the warehouse operations.

 

Experience Desired

 

  • Experience in a similar role – preferably in a manufacturing/industrial setting with a good understanding of despatch & warehouse organisation.
  • Ability to work under pressure and respond to regularly changing demands.
  • Competent IT Skills with the ability to adapt to new systems to support improving efficiency within processes.
  • Excellent organisational skills
