Job Description

Role Purpose

The colour Specialist is responsible for ensuring colour and gloss meet customer specifications. Electronic and visual colour matching and measurement is the key role whilst ensuring accurate data collection and the analysis and maintenance of these measurements. The right person for this role will be enthusiastic, results driven with the ability to manage ever changing procedures and priorities. They will be self-motivated and able to work on their own initiative This position will work within the colour team but will work closely with the process operatives of the final inspection area and the team leaders and operatives of the finishing department.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Electronic colour measurement of samples and hides
  • Visual colour assessment of samples and hides
  • Electronic and visual gloss measurement of samples and hides
  • Maintenance and management of colour master library
  • Ensuring customer requirements and specifications for colour and gloss are met.
  • Colour Matching using RK coater and hand spray techniques
  • Electronically correcting mixes using datacolour equipment and visual colour corrections
  • Keeping downtime in the finishing department to a minimum
  • Identify continuous improvement initiatives – take a lean approach
