Job Description
Role purpose
The Lead Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the cleanliness of our manufacturing facilities. This role ensures that all areas, including production floors, machinery, and common spaces, are maintained to the highest standards. The Lead Supervisor will develop and implement cleaning procedures, manage a team of cleaning staff, and work closely with other departments to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Key accountabilities
- Develop, implement, and manage cleaning procedures and schedules to maintain a clean manufacturing environment.
- Supervise and train a team of cleaning staff, ensuring that all team members are knowledgeable about cleaning protocols and safety standards.
- Conduct regular inspections of the facility to ensure adherence to cleanliness standards and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with the production team to minimise disruptions and ensure cleaning activities are efficiently integrated into the manufacturing process.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
- Prepare and maintain detailed records of cleaning activities, inspections, and any incidents.
- Address and resolve any issues or concerns related to cleaning and promptly and effectively.
- Stay updated with industry best practices and advancements in cleaning technology and methodologies.
- Coordinate with external cleaning services and contractors as needed.
Experience Desired
- Proven experience in a cleaning management role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of cleaning products, techniques, and equipment.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
Preferred Requirements
- Certification in industrial cleaning or related fields.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and practices.
- Experience with continuous improvement processes.
